I got a LaGard commercial electronic lock on my AMSEC, and I have had no problems at all in 10+ years. And there are new-ish EMP-resistant (some of the ads say '-proof' but I'm not that accepting) models widely available.
Spinning that dial in low light while family is screaming and a parolee is trying to force entry would challenging. Fine motor skills go all to hell, regardless of age.
