      They are no longer a functioning club, so might as well spend the money going down fighting..

              Always a good time. It was nice knowing it was there, and handy, when you took someone shooting for the first time. Very disappointing to say the least.

                Very sad. The few times my wife and I went there, we always had a great time. It's a great location.

                    In an illustration of what we are all up against, at our MC meeting last night the Chabot closure was discussed - and then a member stood up and said he got all the flyers from Chabot - and he was pissed that no one wanted to know "the other side of the story." He started raving about the environment, and costs of clean up and how Chabot was not "cooperating" with the state otherwise this all have been avoided.

                    I just sat there fuming. The bureaucracy has successfully shut down one of our venues for exercising a fundamental civil right and this ******* says it's the range's fault?!?

                    Color me old fashioned, but when it comes to the destruction of my civil rights, there is NO OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY.

                    (This same guy later got up and complained that the 9th Circuit ruled that if you have a pot card you can't own a gun. He said he wanted to warn every one and that's when I finally had enough and loudly announced that anyone filling out the 4473 who misses the "do you use drugs" question is either too stoned or too stupid to own a gun.

                    And that's when he asked: "is that really on there?")

                    ... and all this from a guy who says he owns guns an supports the 2A.

                    <sheesh>

                      The lead issue also caught range management off guard. Chabot continues to be reactive, and reactive doesn't seem to work too well in California if you examine history.
                      Funny about the lead . Just heard instead of cleaning up the range , they are just going to pave over the site.

                      They wanted it to be a good park to walk the trails , ride horses and enjoy the scenery , hahaha . Turn it into a big parking lot .

                      Hope the neighbors enjoy (more)smog , lots of car exaust , rumbling of more cars ( fun to sprightly drive the road ) now they are going to have a place to drink their beer before returning down the road .

                      Shows what they wanted all along , just close down a gun club .
