frog lube on ar15

I heard that AR15 love to run wet. So when I used frog CLP paste on my AR, I really caked it on. I left most of the stuff on my AR and didn't wipe much off. I'm not going to get a chance to test it until this weekend.

So what I did was test it on my glock. I caked it on thick and tested it at the range just now. The gun did not run well at all. it was sluggish and gunky so the feed kept jamming because the slide wasn't moving fast enough. It didn't run smooth until the gun really started heating up towards the end.

So my question is, should i just wipe off most of the frog clp on my AR before I head to the range this weekend? Does "running wet" not apply to frog clp?

TLDR; I caked a **** load of frog CLP on my AR because I heard it likes to run wet. Am I stupid?

Ya... ARs like to run WET, not greasy.

Wrap the parts in paper towels and put the parts in a black trashbag, leave out on deck for the sun to cook the FL out.

Dip bolt in Mobil-1, drip-dry overnight, go shoot.

yeah, when I followed the instructions, my glock ran really nice. I tried it this way because I heard "AR's love to run wet". but I think frog CLP isn't the same as regular lube.

Frog lube is only reason I've ever had light primer strikes on a handgun. I think it runs better on the AR platform, but it's not for me anymore.

For a AR clone rifle user you can download a copy of uncle Sam's user manual and keep it handy. Works wonders.

I started using, but couldn't notice s difference. Maybe if I applied it like the directions say it might be noticeable. I didn't realize you have to heat up whatever you apply it to. Guess I'm a shoot first, ask questions later kind of guy. Haha

CLP on the inside. Frog lube on the outside to even the finish, and it smells great compared to hoppe's 9, soaks in to the finish without leaving a sopping mess.

Realistically doesn't need it but if I use too much CLP the gun literally drips with it for while and it can get everywhere. I've had it get into the Case Foam etc. I have even had CLP splash around while firing the weapon**
