    Ammo Can Liners?

Are these liners REALLY needed? Im moving my loose 9mm to a 50cal ammo can. Should I put a liner? Does it do much?

Im in the High Desert of So Kali. We dont see much humidity, IF any at all ALL year.

Sooo, it's a Zip Lock bag? I guess if you want to store your ammo in a Zip Lock bag, that's fine. But $7.49 is about $7.45 too much.

I use steel ammo cans with good o rings and toss a few of those silica packets that come in new shoes or jerky packs in each can.... Never had a issue in my 20+ years of storing ammo in them

If you are really concerned, get one of these. They go on sale a lot over the holidays. Yes the bags lack whatever the mythical "VCI" is but you can freeze meat etc. when it's cheap.

That costs as much as the ammo can!

I do the same thing. I have steel core AK ammo from the 70's. still looks brand new.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

I just put my ammo in the GI ammo cans and nothing else. Some has been in there 25-30+ years and not a problem.
I even have ammo from the early 1960's still in the cardboard boxes or plastic flip top ammo boxes that is still just fine. Some of the lead tips show some oxidation just as some of my very old reloading bullets do.

I am in the central valley and the ammo is in the garage.

Is the extra steps needed.....NO. Will it hurt to do so.....probably not.

No need for any silica packs/vacuum packs/baggies or twizzle sticks. However if you will feel better doing more it is your ammo and money so knock yourself out.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

They are cheap and they keep things fresh. Millions of potheads can't be wrong, can they?

Depends where you're going to store I guess.
