Now have all the parts to assemble the rifle.
Just need holes in the paperweight.

The receiver is raw 7075 aluminum. The current plan is to paint with Alumahyde.
First, I'm going to stamp the ATF info before milling.
Would be better to paint before or after milling?
          I'm thinking after.

Stamped name, city/state, caliber, and serial number.
            Drilled one of them.
            That's it for today.

Paint after all miling is done.
I used a Rigid router for my lowers and it worked great. Home depot $99

Bought the Ridgid 24012 this morning.
Unfortunately my drill press is too small. But my hand drill was fine with the Easy Jig.

How long did it take you to complete start to finish? I still have my easy jig, lower, and drill collecting dust lol. I gotta go get a router (gunna get the porter cable that 80% arms recommends and uses)

                      Looks good.

About 3-4 hours. I took my time and made very shallow passes, 1/6 th of a hash mark.
Took the guides off every 2-3 passes to vacuum chips.

The lower is assembled and appears to function correctly (trigger doesn't move on "safe" and does/hammer fall on "fire").

Took the assembled rifle to my LGS, On Target Arms in Modesto.
Had them l give it a good look and they said I should have no problems.
On Target is a great little shop, just opened less than a year ago. Just a few blocks away so I pester them on my days off.

Took the rifle out for its first shots.
                              It didn't blow up.
Started about 10 yards from a trash target that some slob left out there. First shot an inch 9 o'clock of the 1" dot. Second round 1.5" at 5 o'clock.
Ok, I know what to expect from this rifle. Next 8 are in that 1" circle. Sights are close.
Back out to 27 yards on my new shooting bench (it's nice).
                              Three rounds in a 1" triangle, 2.5" at 3 o'clock.
Started 4 clicks left, poi moved 'slightly'. 4 more clicks, nothing.
Trigger is jammed, safety is jammed, cleared the gun and put it away.
Finished the session with my 9mm on the steel targets.
Got home and Google the symptoms.
Removed the popped primer from under the trigger and all is well again.
Since elevation appears perfect at 27 yards (25 meters) I'll leave that be (for now). I'll get a bore sight and dial in the windage.
Very happy with my first build, 80% at that.

                                Completed rifle (looks rather generic)
