    Where do you shoot thread?

I was thinking today(look out) about starting a thread with a list of places to shoot. The list would include directions, maybe links to google maps, and/or photos. Now I know a lot of people don't want to give out there "secret spots", but it may be nice to see a few more law abiding shooters around these spots. It may even keep your spot cleaner, because I know there are a lot of good people here on this board. If anything all you brass collectors with have a heck of a lot more reloading to do.

I've started a poll to see how the majority feels about even starting a thread of this kind. I'm doing this because I would hate to list one of my spots and have it be another members "secret spot". I wouldn't want to anger anyone.

No Thanks. I'd like to keep my spot a secret.

Some things are best to be kept secret.

It is no secret where I shoot, I just don't like to advertise the precise location of the BLM land where I go shooting here in SD because someone might not read my directions correctly and end up shooting in non BLM land.

But the only "Range" that I use is South Bay Rod & Gun Club in Southern/Eastern San Diego County. Best out door range in my area.

falifornoone, best thing to do is to pay attention to the "Shoots/meets/range stories" forum and see if they have any shoots schedule for your area and then just tag along.

You are starting a thread to see if you should start a thread about where people shoot ?
          why?????

It would make more sense if there were different threads for different regions. I don't want to go looking through a ton of socal and central cal locations just so I can find one near me.

Maybe if we had regional subforums . . .

Well then you might want to think of it as keeping a fellow calgunner from getting in trouble by being in the wrong location. If people were to include GPS coordinates with their post then they wouldn't have to worry about this.

Because, I don't want to give away another members "secret spot". I want to make sure the majority agrees with a thread of this kind. I know anyone can post anything they want at anytime, but starting a thread of this kind encourages posting of locations.

Best thing to do is to go to your local BLM office and purchase a map of the area you want. Then go out drive around and look for a good, safe spot.

You don't have one already? Come on, get with it everybody has one.

Actually, you can find an older GPS unit on ebay for like $20 to $50. They aren't color, have the highways, or talk to you, but you can get coordinates and mark locations just as well.
