Im all for you trying, and I hope you get it. If you do, Id like to know about your good cause statement, since mine apparently isnt good enough.

Maybe you should appeal? I have read that sometimes if you simply request a copy of all of the CCW permits that were approved by the sheriff than a lot of times they'll just approve you or at least grant your appeal. They don't want to risk a lawsuit or bad press when it shows that 99% of the Sheriffs campain doners all happen to have CCW permits too. LOL!

if that worked then the Bay Area would many more permits than they do and why would the sheriff be worried about bad press concerning CCW?...we are in California

I wouldn't trust military personnel with firearms, either. Do you know how many of the said firearms they've ruined?

I would most definitely do a PRAR to obtain the GC statements of all current CCW holders (after having applied for a CCW and been denied one).

Most counties such as the one I live in will not grant a CCW to a mere commoner. And I could be wrong here but I believe a denial will hurt you in the future if you move to a CCW friendly county or your county changes their rules.
