First and foremost, I'd like to state that I love this site and it's amazing community. I've been able to find so much useful information here and everyone has been so helpful. You are all awesome!
With that being said, with the passing of recent laws, I decided to approach my company about relocating. I work for a logistics company as an IT Administrator. We have multiple locations and had 3 IT positions open in 3 locations.
After much discussion with the wife, we settled on Ohio. The cost of living is considerably less, my wife is able to transfer to another hospital in the area (RN) and the gun laws are FAR better.
I put in a proposal to relocate and fill the Ohio position that has been vacant for 3 months. I just got word back from the VPs that it was accepted and I can begin ASAP. However, we're scheduling it for January.
I am both nervous and excited to be starting a new chapter in my life. Part of me wants to stay and fight the good fight here in CA. But I don't ever see it changing. As a 2A advocate in CA, I feel like Sisyphus (greek mythology guy pushing the rolling boulder uphill). Constantly fighting for rights, but never seeing results.
Aside from the financial benefits of relocating to Ohio, I feel like I just unlocked new items in a game!
