It's been a few years, but yep, used an Uncle Mike's OWB thumb-break holster for the 625 on both 3-Gun and PPC, when using an auto for 3-Gun it was a leather IWB thumb-break. I understand that it's a game for most, but I'm the guy that used cover when available, didn't reload out in the open, didn't shoot while moving, etc. even if it kept me off the podium. I thought of it, but I almost always wear shorts, it's too hot for pants up where I shoot.

I'm kinda thin and fit too if you compare me to FP. My problem is my pants falling after I draw a firearm from an IWB holster. It just makes my pants loose. I've never had a problem with my pants falling up when I draw. Try a better belt and a different holster.

                IDPA Belt Rules

                From the Rule Book:

                8.4 Belts

Belts must be no wider than 1 3/4" or thicker than 5/16" and must pass through a minimum of all but two of the pant loops.
                .................................................. .............

I am going to lean towards your holster being to tight on your firearm.
My wife is a skinny woman and has no problem with her draw or pants rising up. Check your retention screws (if your holster has them).

                Regards,
                Mike

What belt and holster are you using?
I should have asked this first.

I had a stiff leather belt (though it wasn't meant to be a gun belt). However, I just bought a 5.11 Maverick Assaulter's Belt, which I hope will be a big improvement. I will also re-check my retention setting, but I need it to be able to hold the gun in place while I run. If I still have problems, I may look for shorts with an inner liner, like bathing suit has.

I staple my belt to my side. Yea it stings a bit but it works.

You'd better not be using one of those high capacity staple guns!

It sounds like your shorts are baggy.

It's been a long time since I was thin and fit but I believe back then I would go commando because dropping 50 lbs on junk into the bottom of my shorts easily offset my draw and lowered my center of gravity.

UPDATE: I bought and received a 5.11 Maverick Assaulters belt. I bough it in Medium, which says is for 32-34" waist. I usually buy pants in 30" waist, but they said they run small, and I should get a Med. Well, it has much more of a range than 32-34, it can probably go from 28-38, but the way it fits me, the velcro end of the belt is right where my holster goes, so I sent it back and will wait for a Small. However, even with that belt, the problem isn't solved at all. If I pull up slightly on the holster, the belt moves right up from my hips to my waist. I'm going to need to wear some ind of spandex shorts attached under my regular shorts to keep the waistband down.

                                Blockfort,

I still have a feeling your holster retention is set too tight, however I think I found what your looking for. I have NO idea if this would be legal for IDPA.

Now that looks HORRIBLY uncomfortable for the frank and beans, but it does look to secure the holster to your upper leg as well as your belt.

Just a simple safariland adapter and some velcro.

                                Hope this helps...
                                Regards,
                                Mike
