How do I keep my belt down when I draw?

I shoot IDPA once or twice a month. I'm kind of thin and fit, and don't have the advantage(?) of a gut to hold my belt down when I draw my pistol. If I tighten the belt around my hips, it just rides up to my waist and goes loose again. What can I do about this? Is there some kind of brace or wrap I can put around my thigh and attach it to my belt on the inside?

A set of keepers will prevent that issue. Providing you wear a belt on your pants.

get a better belt, or one with hook and loop and a inner belt.

That's not IDPA legal, but even if it were, I don't see how that would keep the belt and holster from riding up from my hips to my waist.

The belt I wear on my shorts is what I need to keep down. I need to keep the shorts down too. What do the keepers do anyway?

If you cinch it at the waist, it should hold. Are you high waisting it?

What's the rule on belts for IDPA?
I've only shot it once and was wearing a heavy leather belt that was holding up my jeans and had all my gear attached to it.
