Oh is that the 'loophole' Obama keeps talking about?
Lol... kidding, I bought and sold plenty of guns f2f back when I lived in the free states. The only thing I would say is at least make/get a bill of sale with ID info of the other party in case something comes back flagged as stolen or whatever...Comment

I can't say it is not a good move. Goodbye CA., from another productive English speaking citizen.Comment

Already have my property picked out in Prescott. When I retire, I'm taking my guns with no BB's, loading any mag I wish and not looking back. No forms and no stress. You're good.Knives don't stab people, cars don't drive drunk, eating utensils don't make you fat and pencils don't mis-spell words.Comment

I lived in Prescott for 13 years, I'd really like to go back, but very few jobs there that pay the bills well enough...Comment

I took my guns with me when I moved to AZ. I could have sold them and rebought in AZ but I was too busy buying a house out of state at the time and setting everything up for the move.
Speaking for myself I'm not worried about the PRK coming after me for any reason. Just like many Americans, I moved from one state to another and the guns I brought with me are lawful to own AZ and that is all that matters.
If you like what you have and want to keep them. Then I would say keep them and don't overthink things.
Best of luck on your upcoming move and welcome to Arizona.sigpicComment

How long does it take- to become a legal resident of AZ, once you cross "Check Point Charlie" at the California border- into free territory?
Good luck to you OP!Comment

6 months...I think. I know they require 6 months of permanent residency to buy a "resident" hunting license.Knives don't stab people, cars don't drive drunk, eating utensils don't make you fat and pencils don't mis-spell words.Comment
-
Yes it's six months for legal purposes. I waited for 6 months before I applied for my CCW, just to be sure. Once you have an AZ address and no longer have a CA drivers license your a resident for all intensive purposes.Comment
-
I have a non resident CCW now. Should cover me for those 6 months.Comment

Yeah. There aren't any anti-gun political hacks looking to make a name for themselves by passing ridiculous laws or anything.I don't think this is any indication that anything remotely similar will happen with guns you take out of the state. The primary reason being that there aren't any fees associated with the registration of your guns in CA once you've taken possession.
You are being paranoid about this for absolutely no reason at all.
And that CERTAINLY wouldn't extend into the KA DOJ......

Again. You are being paranoid about this for absolutely no reason at all.
Since we know that no such law currently exists that attacks guns LEAVING the state, I won't bother asking for any examples of your ridiculous, unfounded, speculation based FUD.
You are speculating on the bureaucratic oversight of a law that doesn't even exist. Thats like FUD to the 2nd power. Whats the matter with you?Comment
