DROS and the 10 day wait.....

I am fairly certain they don't check your address (for long guns it doesn't matter and I have had customers run their DROS then go back to the DMV and get their registration changed so they can get proof of residency to match!). I know they don't care about your last name because I spelled a customer's last name wrong once and it still went through. I am pretty sure they mainly want your DL# and DOB to be correct.

Usually they get back to you in 2-4 days on a rejection. I have processed some 400+ DROS since I opened in November and I have only had two rejections. One was during my mad DROS days of December and I didn't notice a guy's expired CADL (I check that everytime now) and the other this guy has a son that is a junior (same exact name) that is a criminal and so he is still waiting for approval. I ran him back in February or something like that!!!

I guess I get less shady customers than Big5.

OK well my DROS went through, I have a feeling I'll be fine. Now once my 10 days is up the "ghetto gunsmithing" can begin hahahaha

And to think, not long ago the wait was 15 DAYS!!! for a handgun in Kalifornia.

I remember that. When my dad bought me my first .22 when I was like 11 I didn't change my socks the entire 15 day wait LOL

Part of the reason I ask is because I bought a pistol last week (new) and I'm doing a PPT today on another pistol. I recently moved and I don't want my DROS to get rejected TWICE if my change of address form didn't get processed or something stupid like that. My DROS last Sunday went through fine although I don't know how much the address plays into it.

I hope you don't get caught up in the same mess I did.

No, you can do as many PPT's as you want. I did one new pistol and one PPT.
