This^^^^^
But I feel for you OP. You're a DAD......(Lucky Man).....priorities my friend.
I am with the Stripped Lower idea. I just bought 2 more from Riflegear their store brand called the Aggressor on sale for $109 each. I had signed up for
Email notification and paid online.
Listen. What's the hurry? You just build out a lower to a featureless rifle anytime. No RAW registration needed. Actually less expensive to build from a striped lower and you can pay as you go if desired.
Ok. Ok. On the Credit Card issues all I can say is STOP applying for credit!
Getting turned down hurts your SCORE because of inquiries. You obviously have issues with income and cash flow. (Maybe other issues as well)
Do you know your score? My advice is to sign up for a free account on CreditKarma.com
See your Score, you payment history, you credit history and you can fix errors
If you find them.
Live below your means.
Be well

+1 on this.Wants vs. Needs. Your want/need might be an AR. But then you will need magazines and ammo which will cost more. CC maxed and a family, just friendly advise, focus on them. I have wasted alot of money over my lifetime on perceived needs.
If you are set on getting an AR, lots of local places will lay away. Stripped receivers are even better. Buds Gun Shop online has a lay away plan. Pretty affordable, 90 days or more and ships to your chosen FFL.Comment

save your money for your kid and wife.
borrowing money for guns is stupid unless you hunt for foodComment

Layaway for guns makes me uncomfortable. I would rather save the money until I can pay cash for the item so that way if my car breaks down or something else like that, I can have my money available to me instead of being $400 locked up for a gun that I might not even be able to afford after all is said and done.Comment

As I have told my daughter numerous times. There is a reason that poor people stay poor.
- They shop at "Convenience Stores"
- They smoke and or drink.
- They put things on credit at really high rates.
- They "Rent to Own".
- They feel entitled to things they cannot afford
If any of these things apply to you, it will be very difficult for you to get on track, no matter how much money you make. Please think about want vs need, and go from there.WARNING: This post will most likely contain statements that are offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense, and or maturity.
