Rob has become VERY arrogant since he moved to Rocklin. He used to be super nice at the old Citrus Heights store, but even after buying 5 guns there it continues to get worse with he and his staff. Right after Sandy Hook he got caught price gouging RIDICULOUS amounts (like $200-$400 per lower) then stated it was a typo trying to hide it.

WAY TOO MANY other FFL's in the area that have much better customer service.

I love how Rob is over on Facebook complaining about Calguns, yet isn't here defending himself. Wonder why. He's dealt with these "rushes" before, why is this anything new?

I stand corrected, good to know.
I understand how dealers must feel about PPT's, but honestly, If I was an a FFL, I do them with a smile on my face. Because I know it would pay off on the back side, treat a customer well, even when doing something you really don't want to do, and it may be a $ loss for you if your slow at it. But it will pay off down the line.

Just like Americas tires fixes flats for free, they make no money, on it, in fact they totally lose money on it, they pay for the labor and the parts, they don't even take the $10 as in a PPT, butt, they have made a customer of me for life, as well as my three kids who are now adults buying tires, so long Costco, so long to the dealers who are buts about PPT's.

If they say no, that is a form of denial, they are not allowed to limit the time or days they will do them, and it is a misdemeanor.

But they could then just say, ok come in well get to you when we can, and you sit there all day, that's what Bullseye in San Rafael did to me, even when no one was there, they wouldn't help me, it took hours.

I like SBR, it's sad to hear they went this route. I understand its time consuming and not profitable if they take more than a few minutes to do it, but it's part of the deal to be a FFL, I have reported PPT violations to the DOJ when they were extreme, and then take my $ to other shops, for life or until policy's and attitudes change..
Bullseye did that? They've never done that to me, but maybe it is cause about 1/3 of my collection was purchased there. Hope it was just one dick employee on a bad day and not standard practice. I'd buy more but the safe is overflowing.

              100% agree with you.

Customer loyalty is not free. It comes with good customer service to retain your customers and get new customers.

A PPT is a transaction just like any other. In fact, it's easier than a sale because the gun shop doesn't have to discuss the item being sold.

So it is definitely no more difficult to accommodate PPTs than any other transaction, no matter how busy you are.

The last PPT I did took 8 minutes. How do I know? I did it today and timed it because I was curious after reading SBR's comments on Facebook. I am sure on the back end it takes longer, and it will take another 8-10 minutes when I pick it up. So 20 minutes total plus the back end time assuming you have seen the paperwork enough times to get through it quickly. I get that the $10 they get doesn't cover the time spent, wages, storage, etc. - it doesn't - but as pointed out above, I am a customer for life at the place that does my PPTs because they do them with a customer service driven attitude. SBR has always been arrogant in my opinion from the few times I went in there, which is why I drive the same distance the other direction and buy from a competitor. SBR's prices are also some of the highest I've seen in area, but they do have harder to find stuff. That said, my last new gun purchase just earlier this month, a MR762, was $300 more at SBR than where I got it. I refuse to shop at SBR due to the arrogance, prices and policies like this where the shop is more worried about squeezing every last dollar out of every individual transaction rather than looking at the customer for life situation that can occur by treating people well. That said, I'm sure there are people who just do PPT's and bail, and those are money losers, so I get that. Everyone has a different business mentality. I just don't like SBRs. (Side note: anyone know if they are still doing the "if your firearm goes over the ten day wait we may cancel the sale and issue you a refund." That's the final one that made me say I will never buy anything there.)

I drove almost 5 hours to do a transfer there, I and another guy were trading guns, they pretty much refused to help us, even when the store got empty, they wouldn't help, a guy tried too, but the boss or guy in charge said nope, I think a customer is coming in, took probably 3-4 hours to be helped, while the store was pretty much empty the hole time, then they charged me $10 for a lock, wouldn't allow me to bring one in when I picked up the gun, they charged the other guy $.01. Will never go there again, their plan worked.

I went in there to do a PPT some time ago with a Department letter for same day pick up. I was told that my letter was no good as it did not have a "wet signature" even though it did... apparently the employe thinks he's a court certified handwriting expert or some s*** ... the letter was signed in felt pen but I digress. Employee also told me that it did not meet a requirement stating that I was not charged with or under investigation for misdemeanor domestic violence (as all letters are supposed to say) I asked him if he even read the letter because it indeed said that on the letter... he then said "oh... yeah but it's not a wet signature"... I immediately got the feeling that they did not wan't to take the time to complete my transaction and that I was a burden although I had spent already about 200 bucks on parts I needed.

I drove over 60 miles with the letter in hand signed by my Sheriff advising them to turn the firearm over to me immediately for duty purposes... Needless to say I ended up spending about 10 minutes arguing with some dweeb about signatures. I have not and will not be doing anymore business there. Considering I have bought 10+ firearms on department letterhead and recently while picking up my G43 at Elite Arms in Manteca was told "this is the cleanest department letterhead we have ever seen."
