LAX Ammo...Frustrating!!

So I see a good price on some 9mm Fiocchi 115 gr ammo at $9.95 for a box of 50 at LAX Ammo. The store is close to my house so I figure I'll support a local business. So I go in to the store to grab some ammo but the price is $15.99! So, I ask what's the deal on the two prices..."Oh that's the online price." But I'm here and the ammo/warehouse is here! A $6 difference is HUGE! Ok, then lets do shipping maybe it will still be a good deal. So I go online to register and after typing in all my information I get a prompt, "Cannot ship ammunition to Los Angeles County due to licensing and restrictions." What a catch 22 or classic bait and switch! So, someone in AZ can buy at $9.95 plus shipping but to purchase in-store is $15.99 plus tax! Is there that much profit in shipping the ammo to warrant a $6 in-store price difference? The whole thing left a REALLY, REALLY bad taste in my mouth! Another lesson learned as a new shooter.

I did not see that in any prominent location. Going back to the website... I still can't find it in the copy. The real issue is not the shipping to LA but the lack of in-store pricing that is at least close to or exactly what the online pricing is.

LAX's pricing sucks big time and is a total bait and switch. Why won't they just sell you the ammo for the advertized price when you are standing there money in hand is beyound me. Plus, you have to pay tax and their prices are no better than other on line places.
Try SGAmmo or Ammoseek and you will find much better deals without any tricky bull shiet involved.
I made the mistake of driving to LAX for ammo purchase and was told that the in store prices were about 30% higher than the on line advertized price too.

I'm in LA County but not LA City. I recently bought three cases of .223 shipped, so unless they've changed the rules in the past month, LA County but not LA City is good to go.

Yes, it sucks that they have a walk in price that is higher than an online price. I don't understand it either. But they do have a gun range nearby where they make a ton of money selling ammo at full price.

Not the no shipping, but the can't buy at store for price advertised.

Maybe their getting a shipping kickback, & want that, but does make them look good to those online, & bad to others like yourself, & now us.

Nothing new. It's their business and they're entitled to make money however they like. I met the owner once. Wasn't the nicest or most humble person but at least they're making ammo here in LA. I buy ammo during their parking lot sales.
