Guess they don't want the business
Just to clarify, $150 for transfers

    PPT's are $35

They do however have the $100 storage fee starting 24 hours after 10 day DROS period and $100 per week for each additional week
"While it may come as a surprise to the authors of the legislation, most semi-automatic pistols do in fact come with a pistol grip"
Malthusianism is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is arithmetical at best.

For online purchases? Shop around, friend. Usually you will be a better price at a pawn shop or one-man operation than you will at a shop that sells guns new. Gun stores keep transfer fees high because they would rather sell you the gun from their own inventory.

Gunbroker keeps a decent directory of FFLs and their prices. Plug in your zip code, find a price you like, and have a chat with the FFL to confirm. http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerNetwork.aspx

Did you say you're in SLO? I plugged that in and found these two who can hook you up for $65 or $70 including DROS. That's a decent price. Hard to find $50 total especially in smaller and more liberal cities. Remember you will also pay the FFL sales tax on the price paid for the gun as well as for a lock if one is not included.

You'll find that if you plug in a Bakersfield zip code you'll find several $25 + $25. Worthwhile if you have a need to be in Bakersfield. Otherwise not worth the gas.
