I mean at the end of the day if you had a guy that just killed 5 cops and is a complete nutjob and I'm a cop and my commander says hey either you gotta go in there guns blazing and probably get shot myself or send in a robo-bomb...I don't give a ****, I'm sending the bomb.

If there was hostages it's a totally different scenario, of course.

pacrat has it right. Police agencies are not the Military, but they are civilians and they are paramilitary structured. (thus they are paramilitary).

Our Military is not "paramilitary", as such our National Guard is not either.
National Guard is a part of the military reserves.

So, my question to God Bless America is:
If our Military and National Guard are not paramilitary, then give examples of what you think are some paramilitary organizations?

Clue: Any organization that is NOT the military, but is structured like the military.
A few examples would be, a militia (National Guard is a militia but there are other militia's), military schools, even radical groups like the Black Panthers. Oh, also police agencies.

Police who incorrectly use the word "Civilian" to denote a class distinction between themselves and average citizens. Are driving a verbal wedge between themselves and average citizens. This promotes the "Us v Them" agenda which must be avoided if trust and respect is to return between the two groups.

True, but LEO's don't consider themselves military.
They do not consider themselves civilian either. They consider themselves separate (sworn peace officers).

There is the us vs. them attitude between the public, and even employees of their own department.

They feel that if you haven't gone thru police training and worked the streets, then you can't possibly understand what they go thru. Hence, the us vs. them attitude.

It is similar in the military forces. How many Marines here have talked trash about the other branches, and vice versa.
