Kelly McGillis gets her CCW after attack

No one needs a CCW until they get attacked. I wonder if she'd get a CCW if she lived in L.A.?

(Wasn't sure where to post this info but here it is.)

Not anymore. Not that it would have done a guy any good, even back then.

Can't believe she didn't have one before. She was brutally sexually assaulted and beaten by two guys when she was in college.

She says she was soon confronted by a woman who attacked her when she ran outside to call 911 and took her cellphone.

When calling 911 from a cell phn. You MUST give a location immediately. With a landline, even if your number is blocked, name and address show on dispatcher's screen.

Glad she is OK, and now has the means to protect herself.

Many people do not realize that one of the main benefits of having a CCW is being armed when you enter your residence.

If she isn't already, I hope she becomes a member of Pink Pistols.

They get the GPS coordinates on cell phone 911 calls. Not the same as an address but still identifies where you are.

This. She could be a high-profile spokesperson for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Once again, where were the police? Where were the police?

Not true - location is built in. You can not turn off your GPS location for 911 calls. Dispatcher can decipher and guage and issue; plenty of incidents of domestic abuse victims calling 911 discretely without ever talking and dispatcher sends out a car to the location.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

                        She was gorgeous.

From the picture in the article, she looks like William Shatner.

She was concerned that the person in her home had found one which was why the urgency in exiting the home.

If you are attracted to lesbians. I mean some lesbos are hot, but I am not attracted to them because of their orientation. And most are to me, too masculine in their traits and behavior. My puny little ego can't handle that a woman might be more attracted to another woman than to me! Major 'turn-off' to me and contrary to what some other guys dig, with the two women together, and then the guy. I must be 'abnormal' or something. ha

In any event, I liked her in 'Witness' but felt that she was miscast in 'Top Gun' because she and Cruz had absolutely no chemistry. Perhaps her character wasn't meant to be vulnerable but I saw her attempt at vulnverability as the story progressed unconvincing. Perhaps that has to do with her own sexuality, but I don't know if that's true or not. A mismatch, she was too old for him and I did not believe the romance at all. It did not 'work' at all.
