Youre gonna have to start putting the lowers in their names to be sure they can own them. I'm thinking the same thing. As soon as the countdown begins, I may just transfer all my AR's ownerships to my son.

My families trust owns all of our guns. They are transferred to the trust as soon as we recieve them, and the trust never dies. As long as we keep registering new trustees, no gun ban can touch us. The whole concept of "no passing down guns" is gone. All of our guns belong to an entity that never expires, while we trustees merely use them.

If you owned WAAAAAAY more AR's than you could ever use in your lifetime, and I mean WAAAAY more, like 300+, then I suppose I could see someone selling some AR's now to hedge against the possibility that they can't sell them later. But if you only own less than like 10 AR's, you'd be crazy to sell now. Or is making a quick buck really worth risking sacrificing (more of) your 2a rights for the rest of your life?

I tend to agree with you on the don't sell part of this, I only sell some to finance another one. But why do you think that out of state buyers would be interested in taking the California banned guns off your hands? Other states have more access to the proposed banned items than Californians do, so unless they are offered at a massive discount price why would we be interested in them? We can buy unmodified/not bastardized rifles unrestricted and all we want for good prices right now. California modified magazines are less than worthless to us as we use standard capacity. The market is just as saturated here as it is there.

The point is you can still sell it. The bullet button is not a major mod. And you can always part it out if necessary. Your not going to get top dollar unless it's a factory rifle anyway. Most people put their home built ARs up for sale and expect to get what they put into it. That's a fantasy.

with all due respect, i doubt that a trust will protect guns in a ban. if the 2nd amendment can be trashed then nothing is safe, especially a mere piece of paper.

The 2A can only be trashed if you acknowledge and follow an unconstitutional law prohibiting it.

They can only take from you what you let them.
