I think there may be pending bills addressing that issue that are retroactive, so that a 80% that you made years ago will have to be registered and given a serial number.

I think what you are seeing has a lot to do with the panic buying after Sandy Hook.
Many dealers at that time were swamped with first time buyers looking for AR's, etc.. and knowing very little about them.

These folks see firearms in a very different way than someone that's been around them all their lives.
They see their rifle sit unused for a year and treat it like any other unused item in their household.

Was at Smokin' Barrel and Greta's in Simi Valley yesterday. At both locations, first time buyers of guns - ANY kind of guns - were lining the counters. It was about 50/50 on those expressing interest in black-rifles vs. handguns.

It was the first time in going to Greta's in since Sandy Hook that EVERY parking space in their lot was occupied when I got there.

Isn't that good? If lines are long, chat some of the new people up about the impending legislation while you wait, and make sure they know who to vote for. And don't be hostile about it. This is an opportunity for us to get new people who vote on our side.

What frustrates me more than anything is all these 'foundations' are fighting law suits... Yeah, that is good I suppose, if your goal is to have 1 victory every 30-years.

We need these 'foundations' to spend money on Public Service Announcements. I am talking full on carpet bomb TV, Radio, Websites, Youtube, Newspapers, Billboards, Sporting events...etc.

We also need them to groom and/or back pro 2A Governors, Assembly Members, Senators, Congressmen & US Senators.

But that is not what they do. One of them likes to send me an urgent email every 15-seconds asking me to sign a petition or to send my representatives a stern email..... oh yeah, and give them more money. They want $50 a pop.


The problem is, the so called 'gun advocate' groups don't want to really solve the problem. It is bad for their business and we got sucker written all over us. We want to have someone else fix it and not take the time to be inconvenienced to do what needs to be done and what should have been done a long time ago.

Yes, many people are buying ARs like crazy because of the impending state and/or national restrictions that could be here as early as Jan 1, 2017.

In my opinion, we should always be buying.

I have only seen one poster considering to sell because they feel guilty about owning AR's. I have friends getting their lowers now. I believe that demand will out strip supply. I owe it to my family to have the best possible firearms to defend my family. I am not worried about more lowers. I just want the spare parts to replace worn parts.

All the gun stores Im friends with can't keep them in stock. The AR is selling better than it ever has.

I don't think I know anyone stupid enough to sell their rifles due to the media hype. Truthfully, I don't think Ive even heard of that except for the douche bag here who started that thread.

I encourage every gun owner to buy AR lowers. It makes it that more difficult politically for the gun ban rulers to say "black rifles" are some subset of guns.

Gotta agree with this, but the roster, it will be gone with the stroke of a pen.

Also, when gun sales are gone, taxs will go up in other areas.

Exactly. Buy til you can't buy no mo'. The only kind of buyer's remorse in this industry is you didn't buy enough. And if that's the case given the past few years of political douchebaggery, it's your own damn fault.

I haven't heard of a single soul selling anything, much less ARs. Everybody I talk to is holding on to their arsenal tighter than a teenage hoohoo.
