I have used both, on duty guns and personal guns. I prefer SF, and I am running an X300U on my bedside gun right now.

I prefer Surefire - It's so easy to mount and works perfectly. I can say it's a very reliable weapon light.

Own both and I like the Streamlight more. Best bang for the buck. Streamlight is on all my HD weapons. Surefire are on my beater training guns

Guess I'm the odd guy out. I run Insight Technologies MX6 light/laser combo on pistol and carbine. Bought them in '12 and they're still running strong, though there are brighter options out there now.

I fall into the "if it ain't broke, don't replace it" category.

Streamlight tlr1 hl on my bedside gun. Taken it night shooting and it lights up the desert out to the 75 yards I put it to. No issues. Never dealt with SF but I can't imagine the premium you're paying for is really that much more of a light. Either way they're both awesome. I love my tlr-1.

Sold them both and used them both for years. The only way I would take a streamlight over a SF light is if budget dictated it.... Which it has many of times. SF is a superior product from a design and quality standpoint. They also have a superior warranty process.

If you have the money go with Surefire. If your on a budget go Streamlight. I have a Surefire on my SHTF Socom II but Streamlight polytacs on all other rifles as well has my vehicles. The Streamlights are nice and about half the cost. The new polytacs have a strobe and low light feature too.

Ive had both. I like the build quality of the surefire more. While the streamlight is still a good light, and can be had for less that 100 bucks if you look around, I didn't like how easy it was to move the lever to activate the light. Yea I;m weird but I also know my self, and i tend to play with things when nervous and know if i had to use it attached to my HD gun I dont want it to turn on unless I want it to turn on.

I have both a SF and a SL, the SL stopped working the first time I dropped it, my SF is a much better light, my other SL blew an LED not long after I got it.

There really is a difference, and I prefer USA made products.

I had a streamlight tlr-1 battery cap come apart last week. A little jb weld and all is
Well again. That being said a had a surefire x200 pin that kept walking out under live fire so each can have problems.

Here, here. Exactly my thoughts. What I did, was google the SL TRL-1 IR bezel. It is all black. I bought it and swapped it for the stupid silver ring bezel. Wasn't that expensive, and looks great. Tried the sharpie thing, and it kept wearing off.
