Which do you recommend and why? I am in the market for a new weapon light for my pistol and wanted some user feed back from those who owned both or one. Thank you

Rifle or pistol? If its on a HD pistol then SL cause the bounce back from a SF can damn near blind you at night. Rifle or outside gun then the SF.The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink! -
I have both, Streamlight TLR-1HL 800 lumens and Surefire x300u 600 lumens. I personally prefer the Streamlight. The toggle switch on the Streamlight is easier to engage. With the Surefire for intermiitent light you have to push the switch forward with your finger and for me its very stiff and not comfortable for me. I have a Springfield XD9 by the way.Comment

I have both Steamlight TLR-1 HL and Surefire X300 Ultra, I prefer the Streamlight, it's brighter and for me the controls are easier.Originally posted by gwgn02G-shock, a good way to tell the time, and better way to tell the female variety you are unworthy mating material.Comment

Maybe the military contract. Slot of money for plastic.
They've controlled the market so long.
I save bucks with
Streamlight TLR-1 for handguns. Better controls.
Tlr-1 HL with pressure pad for AR is a great light too.
i have both. Both are great lights, just comes down to personal preference. Also made in USA (Surefire) vs China (Streamlight) and Surefire's Life warranty is second to none. I have seen streamlight weaponlight stop working numerous times during training.
Any gun owner who does not support the NRA is a freeloader.Comment

I have the Surefire. It was expensive.
I don't have a real way to test Surefire against Stream Light or any of the other options available. I am not constantly in combat. Nor am I on patrol. Nor do I carry weapon with a light mounted. Plus, I try hard to take care of my stuff, even if it is supposed to take abuse.
My light stays mounted to my nightstand weapon which I pretty much leave alone and when I do handle it, I baby it, just all my other guns. So it has never been put through it's paces.
I did a ton of research and learned two things at the time, personal preference (aka fanboys) & lumens were pretty much what seperates them.
I have fondled both. The fit and finish of the Surefire feels better to me. Others may disagree.
I visited both booths at Shot 2015, and the Surefire booth was packed and I felt like the representatives were cocky and jerkish. The Steam Light guys were more approachable and eager to show off their lights.
Ultimately for me, Surefire has more brand recognition, felt better made, had the lumen rating and the laser system I wanted. Plus, I did used a Stream Light hand held rechargeable light in an industrial environment. It didn't last too long. I think within 6 months it tapped out. It was used about 4-6 hrs a night 7-days a week and cost $100 at the time.Signature requiredComment
