He is a good man and one of my best friends. He trains every week. Every month he goes back and "reshoots" the CCW class to keep improving his skills. He was not instructing at the time nor does he own a training company. He was doing a timed drill from concealment using an owb leather holster with a target starting from 1 yard away moving towards him. When he drew his pistol his cover garment was not completely clear and he fired his first shot that caused a minor injury on his leg and his second shot into the intended target. He was taken to the hospital, got 2 stitches, went back to class and hour and half later, and finished shooting with the rest of the class. He also attended FT3 the following night for CCW night. It hasn't stopped him from doing what he enjoys and he's been to work everyday since. He was using a 3" 1911. Hope this helps you all understand what happened.Last edited by glock21sf; 06-17-2016, 7:37 PM.Comment

I guess I don't need to respond further on inaccurate information in the article since glock21sf already did that for me. I was the one on staff there when it happened. My guess on why the journalist got the cold shoulder was because... we don't want to comment on anything related to Orlando. Just look at Katie Couric situation.NRA certified RSO, Pistol/Rifle/Personal Protection Inside The Home instructor, Certified SIG/Glock pistol armorer.Comment

Interesting thing is, during my 5 minutes of safety briefing right before they started, I touched exactly on this subject and advise all students to make sure muzzle pointing at target before placing finger on trigger...NRA certified RSO, Pistol/Rifle/Personal Protection Inside The Home instructor, Certified SIG/Glock pistol armorer.Comment

But wait, he wasn't shooting a Glock?

He was shooting the ultra safe 1911?
Any yet even with a 1911, he some how managed to have his cover garment interfere with his draw.
Glock haters need to take it down a notch...
