    Ammo Price Question

What's considered a good deal on ammo?

Is this considered good enough that I should stock up on a few thousand rounds or should I look elsewhere?

    RELOADS:
    - 115gr 9mm 1000 rounds 174.99= 17.5 cents per round
    - 230gr 45 ACP 500 rounds 129.99= 26 cents per round

This is available local to me so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping.

    Thanks

eh being reloads, I don't think so

Also don't forget to include shipping into your price per round

Thanks for chiming in. What's a good reload price? Where should I look for cheapest reload?

The benefit to this price is that it is local so there is no shipping. I'd be paying exactly the price above.

I'd say 15 cents per round on 9mm for reloads

And 23 cents per round on the 45

But remember, that is my definition of a good deal

Fair enough. You finding deals like that anywhere online?

Check out threads on reloads. May want to buy factory ammo instead, for a few cents more.

Thanks, will do. Just wondering if people had a consistent place they got good deals.

Why? Just wondering because my guns eat reloads just fine with no FTF. So why spend the extra cents??

Reloads can sometimes be inconsistent and cause a kaboom in your firearm which can be deadly

That's not good. Does that really happen or is it more of an urban legend? I've fed thousands of reloads through my guns. I've heard that too but never actually heard it happen to anyone.

Guess for a few bucks more new brass is probably not a bad idea.

Check out Freedom Munitions. They carry their own new as well as their reload line. I've had reasonable results with the ammo, both new and reloads. Watch for sales and free shipping offers.

They can be slow to ship, so factor that in and order early.

FM has had more than their share of issues (do a search) and they are not interested in changing their process to improve them. I had several failures-to-feed and stovepipes with their 40SW ammo, and ended up with an overpressure condition which caused a KB in my pistol. And I am far from the only one.

FM acted like it was normal (which I found out it is for them). I went through the return process (which also felt like they do it a lot) and will never buy from them again. In fact, they cured me of reloads forever. (Except for mine, when I eventually start doing them.)

Some guys will say, "Hey, if it's only a couple of rounds out of a batch of 500, so what?" like it is not a big deal. Well, all it takes is one KB to change your life forever. Me? I'm not willing to take the risk... ending up with one eye, saying to myself...
