    Target Range in Van Nuys

Has anyone used The Target Range in Van Nuys for DROS?
If so, any problems (out of the ordinary)?

It's inside LA city limits so you are subject to all of LA's ridiculous gun laws.

For example if you have purchased a handgun via PPT in the last 30 days, you can't buy one again in LA. And any subcompact handgun is illegal to transfer.

I have used them to purchase handguns. No problem at all.

If that doesn't seem like a problem to you, then I'm not sure what kind of nuclear meltdown you're worried about. Just go ahead and do your transfer.

              Attitude not needed.

Not concerned about a nuclear meltdown. They are rarely mentioned (that I can see) on CG and was curious if people have used them before and if so, any issues.

              Thank you for your response.

I've used them before, it was much better than my current FFL after moving to NorCal.

                  Out of the Ordinary?? Yes.

They make you buy a lock during a PPT even if the gun comes with the OEM lock that it came from the factory with.

So, that is an extra cost of $9.95 on top your $35 dros fee for a PPT.

Other than that and the fact that they do not let you shoot Aluminum cased ammo at their range, everything else is just peachy.

If the oem lock is not ca certified then cannot be used to satisfy dros. Bring a walmart lock .

                      Did a ppt there.

They didn't want to do it because they though the barrel length was less than 16". Even though it is 17.5" Most of the barrel is inside the rifle. it was a bullpup.

Did a PPT there. They knew what they were doing and were helpful. I would use them again, no problem.

I didn't purchase a lock from them. Gun (Ruger Vaquero) came with one.

                              No attitude intended.

The answer is clear. Don't do your transfers in LA city limits. There are tons of problems. Burbank is right down the road.

                              Good luck.
