I don't care much for full size Glocks, it's the compacts and sub-compacts that I like. When it comes to full size I stick to 1911s.

Well see, Glock's have history of having the most negligent discharges. The reason for this is a combination of things. Cheap gun, so the masses buy it and the noobs or just complete idiots don't know how to properly operate a handgun.

But besides that, the firearm is a really safe pistol. If you know what your doing and are comfortable with firearms, you will be okay. I've had mine for 6 months now.

I bet the store owner that was getting robbed and when he tried to shoot back forgot to flip the safety wishes he would have had one of those unsafe Glocks. Right before the badguy emptied his magazine into him. Ya, you can train forever to make sure you flip the safety everytime you draw, but under a high stress situation thats one more step to screw up.

If the XD(M) ever gets ok'd in this state, I would go for that one over the Glock in a heartbeat. I don't hate Glocks like some Glock owners hate the XD (I have read the comments on Glocktalk).

I've had an XDSC9 for almost 6yrs. as a ccw and really like it. I'd really buy it if we could buy pistols with high cap mags since it comes with 19+1. I'm not holding my breath of course.

LOL. I have always found this mindset comical. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. If you are relying on your manual safety to keep from having an accident, then you might need more training or firearms just aren't for you.

There are a lot of LEO with more training than the average Glock owner having negligent discharges with Glocks. 120 in 10 years, from one major department alone. A number of them are from reholsterring the weapon and something getting caught in the trigger guard during the process, no finger on the trigger.

Glock is far and away the most sued handgun manufacturer; I'd be surprised if sooner or later they don't add a thumb safety.

I was going to buy one for the wife for xmas. After she seen it she was like.Looks kind of girly. Totally her choice. Although I liked the new grip it didnt matter. I ended up getting her a 3rd gen Glock23 with a TLR-1 light and a 9mm wolf conversion barrel. She couldnt be more happy.
