    I'm pretty sure those sixes are just nines
    and your other serial numbers were just struck upside down.

    It sometimes happens that way on superstitious people's guns.

      Clams should not smell funny. They should smell like clams and if they don't, I wouldn't eat them.

        I was out browsing 1911's and the shop had 6 of the same model in Stock. So as I took the time to check them out I glanced at the serial numbers...one had my birthdate, and another the date of my recently deceased grandfather's day of passing. Needless to say I have them both in a custom case side by side now.

          not superstitious but I do pay attention.. manufacturing history and statistics intrigue me..

          lots of my guns researched prior to purchase for certain years including my birth year..

          many of those include the two digit year in the actual serial, some seen here;

          these were specially ordered for my kids directly through Anthony..

          initials and birth date serial numbers..

          I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

                  I bought a brand new trailer once and the last three of the VIN were 667. Cool, missed it by one. A week later, the dealership called me to bring the paperwork and trailer back in because they messed up the forms... turned out that the VIN on the trailer ended in 666 and the salesman screwed up the papers.

                  It might not have been possessed but a month later I had it loaded with copper scrap and radiators, and it was stolen from behind a locked gate. Evil calling out to evil?

                    666 would be cool actually, but being superstitious about it is silly of course.
                    The only logical meaning is it is just a number between 665 and 667.

                      I worked at a LGS for a couple of years and one time we had rifle with the last three of the serial number as 666. I just had to get it.

                          A serial number is just arbitrary. I wouldn't sweat it. Now zip codes, those I worry about. Once dated a girl from Mt. Pleasant PA aka "Helltown," zip 15666. I still carry the scars.

                            If you're an atheist then it is a non-issue.

                                Clearly, you need to sell it to me and you won't have to worry. I'll shoulder the burden of a FDE VP9.
