I don't believe in alien abductions or psychics or anything, but when I buy guns I check out the serial numbers and avoid triple sixes and a couple others. Just purchased a vp9 and it's got triple six' sad the last three numbers in the sn. Half tempted to sell the gun, but really don't want to explain myself to the doj when they come fishing around for possible straw purchases.

You should get rid of that evil weapon.
I got 5 on it.. -
That's too bad...I'm not superstitious, but I wouldn't want triple sixes either. LOL, that's actually an interesting dilemma. I'm not sure what I would do.Comment

Never thought about it. The only time I look at the serial # is at the Dros time to make sure the counter help got it correctly and if I like the gun, I really do not care what number is stamped on it as long as it matches the Dros paper.
Got several with a lot of 8s on them. They do not shoot any better than the 6s.

What makes you think that at all? If you sell it by way of legal PPT through an FFL, what is the possible evidence or idea from which they could come to the conclusion?
Nothing. That would be taking your superstition to a whole new super-irrational level.

Not that it means anything rationally. Superstition is based on ignorance and irrational thought.Last edited by ifilef; 06-09-2016, 11:11 PM.Comment

I agree with that statement. The digits on the gun has no influence on function or appearance, but would give me a funky feeling like eating clams and thinking it smelled funny, when it really didn't. As long as I didn't think about the smell, I'd be okay, but if I dwell on the imagined funky smell, I'd start to feel queasy.
