    USPS lost my receiver

I sent a receiver to FFL in Arizona and the package says delivered. The FFL in question says he hasn't got it and I don't think they are messing with me. I'm filing a claim with USPS, but who else should I file a report with? It's a Nodakspud receiver for an AK so not exactly the easiest thing to convert to anything useable, but I don't want a receiver with my name on it floating around.

update: Neighboring Business took the package on accident. Package arrived monday and returned to FFL friday...

Did you send it signature required?

I sold a lower receiver few years ago and sent it through FFL by UPS. They "lost" it. But I had the FFL store handle the case and they called the CA DOJ to report the theft. Next day UPS "found" the package, apologized and delivered it to the receiving FFL.

So, I strongly suggest calling CA DOJ and tell them you want to make a report of theft of firearm by USPS employee. See how fast it will be "found".

Their tracking is always wrong, hang in there. It will show up between now and 6 months

This is like the second or third thread about missing guns or receivers "lost" using USPS through the Los Angeles area Post Office. Check with ATF, there is an active gun thief some where in the Post Office facility/system in the Los Angeles area. Don't ship firearms or parts through the LA Post Office.

USPS is terrible. I've had items take 8-10 days to get to me from an area 2 hours away.

UPS is a close 2nd. They've "lost" two packages of mine, ammo and an AK wood set.

Fed Ex I used when I shipped my pistols to CGW and CZ Custom. No issues yet.

I hate usps. I recently purchased an expensive gun part (not a lower or anything that needs to be registered) and it was shipped across the country, to me, via usps.

I tracked it online multiple times each day. It arrived in the San Diego "sorting facility ", was scanned, photographed by the automated machine, and then lost. It remained lost for about 7 days. I called usps multiple times and got the usual idiot run around. Finally, i was allowed to file a "claim". Two days later they found my package and delivered it to me.

It turns out that it wasn't exactly usps's fault. The company that sold me the item didn't ship it in a box. They just wrapped it in paper and tape, affixed the label, and dropped it in the mail. The packaged product was such an odd shape that it wouldn't fit through the second sorting machine. An employee cleared this jammed package from the machine and put it in a sorting bin to be sent on by hand. For whatever reason, it took them more than a week to sort it...

I contacted the shipper multiple times while usps was searching for the package. The company never responded to me.

I won't shop with that company again.

Anything "important" gets shipped insured with adult signature required.
