Very good article, thanks for posting this.Originally posted by tankermanI think most folks bubba their AR's because they watch too many action movies, play too many video games and don't understand how to socialize properly, so they fantasize about being 'action hero's'. Kind of like little girls playing dress-up.Originally posted by Douglas711Is everybody stocking up on guys now? Just curious some gun prices seem to be getting high. -
That was a good read - thanks!------------------------------------------------------------

Good read.
I've always had a lot of respect for James, his courses, his site(s), etc.
For those that don't know, he's the guy in the lower far right in the group picture with the bald head. He's also the same guy who challenged that interweb mall ninja to a real duel to the death because the kid was insulting James online. A real class act type of guy and from what I have heard all of his experience is combat or training driven; not just "I think this works" as seen in so many other courses, classes, videos, sites, etc.quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est. - Lucius Annaeus

Seems like he is a good instructor. Almost everything I read about him seems that way. However, he does have some serious enemy.
There is a famous video of PMC getting ambushed while waiting for the road to open. 3 cars stopping on a street and insurgents attack from right handside. He was the driver of the first car, and some people from his previous job did not like him at all.
Here is the video(WARNING: GRAPHIC VIDEO)
Here's his AAR
and the website by guys who doesn't like him

I saw that happen at the last shoot-n-que to Chibipaw's AK. Nobody realized what had happened until it got torn apart for cleaning afterwards. The stupid thing ran like that all day long.
Meh. His company blames gear for operator error.Last edited by M. Sage; 01-12-2009, 11:57 PM.sigpicNRA MemberOriginally posted by Deadbolt"We're here to take your land for your safety"

I just read the Edinburgh reports as well as his responses.
From what I have seen and heard in the video, it sounds like he is right on with his descriptions. It sounds like he made a mistake, but it sounds like the actions of his VC were much more detrimental to the overall outcome of that ambush than his. Seeing as almost all the fatal injuries came in the first volley, it wouldn't have mattered if he had made the mistake or not; the ambush would have still been devastating and the transport would have been gone as well. All his actions did was push them into a more prolonged fight, that was started by the V1C, but by that point the damage was done.
In the end several dead, several more wounded, and no confirmed kills. Sounds like a very unfortunate event for all the opperators. I'm just glad the military was there to give aid before things got any more out of hand (though it sounds like it was over before then even pulled up).Last edited by NeoWeird; 01-13-2009, 12:03 AM.quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est. - Lucius Annaeus

Perhaps it's just me, but that doesn't sound like a plus in Mr Yeager's favour.

It wasn't an anger thing. The kid was ripping on his teachings and his credentials, where as the kid was putting up "tactical how to" videos on youtube wearing a ninja mask and Tapco style gear. James basically told him to put his money where his mouth is or STFU. The kid obviously backed down.quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est. - Lucius Annaeus

Why would he care? The kid sounds like an idiot. It wasn't an anger thing. Calling out some kid on the internet to "duel to the death" sounds pretty stupid.

Tactical Response has some cowboy moments!, but they have come along way since they started out. The cowboy thing still comes through on his forum and his articles sometimes, but that is how they roll I guess.
I crinch at some of the photos they post from training in regards to safety, lack of bodyarmor etc.
They do seem to have a bigger following in the midwest.
Another thing to consider is the instructor background "claim to fame" and Bio when you choose a place to train. Some places are better than others.
Too many Koolaid drinkers out there.............Comment
