Thoughts on Gunbroker

I was looking to potentially sell like 8-10 guns or so and am considering gunbroker. I wanted to see the thoughts of CGN regarding how they deal with sales, general policy, working with FFL's or anything you can think of as far as what I may run into. I am NOT looking forward to spending 50 dollars a pop on guns to be mailed out VIA FFL and using one to do all the transfers. I wondered if it would be cheaper for me to send it directly to an FFL myself. Thanks in advance.

Post that the buyers FFL needs to accept from an individual or buyer has to pay for any FFL shipping fees

Handguns must be UPS or FedEx, both overnight to an FFL. ~$100!

FFL shipping for you is cheaper.

I've done no less than 60 transactions on GB, both buying and selling. I've only had one bad experience, and that was on the buy side.

As a rule, I don't do business with anyone who is Not Rated, shown as NR when they bid. Look for A+ rated buyers with more than 1 or 2 transactions. You might want to specify "no NR bidders" in your item descriptions.

If you plan on shipping directly to the buyer's FFL, make sure their FFL will accept firearms from a non-FFL individual.

I only accept U.S. Postal Money Orders for payment. Even cashier's checks can be forged.

I only ship to FFLs or individuals with a C&R FFL, and only for C&R firearms.

All my sales are "As Is, no returns".

Indicate who is paying for shipping. And who is paying for insurance, if any.

Great pictures sell guns fastest.

You can expect a contact or two asking if you will ship to someone directly without an FFL or others asking if you want to trade for something, etc.

I always ask for the receiving FFL's FFL number. That way you can look them up on the ATF website and make sure the shipping address is legitimate.

My preferred FFL isn't to crazy about receiving things from private party.

I believe this may be incorrect info I think they have the right to ensure the long gun is unloaded. I think it is in their regulations in the DMM domestic mail manual.

I have a couple AR15s, a Remington 5R, Savage 93R17, a custom savage .22 bolt gun, a Ruger MKiii competition target, Swiss K31, and I'm sure I'm missing one or two or more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head right now

You are correct. The USPS has the right to ensure the long gun is unloaded. But nowhere in the regulations can I find any requirement that you tell them you are shipping a long gun.

What is your beef with Gunbroker? What do you suggest then for selling guns out of your area.? Some guns are so specialised or niche they will never sell in most local gun stores or to the average person on Calguns.
