Around here there is always light leaking through the windows. Getting up in the low light/dark means my eyes are already adjusted better to the dark then the perp that entered.

So I keep several flashlights around for just such an occasion. Mostly the stupid bright led 18650 lights that max out around 1000 lumens. Got me thinking that I need to find a setting that will illuminate without blinding me in the process. 1000 lumens pointed at a white wall will blind the **** out of me if my eyes are night adjusted.

Obviously a flashlight is needed for any home emergency, whether it's defense or simply a power outage.

Looks like I'll be walking around my house with the lights off like a dork later. At least my wife will get a laugh.

Digital watch. Push the button and it is a mini flashlight. I have been finding my way around in the dark for years by doing this.
