I was thinking about the pending ammo background check

This is probably a ridiculous idea, but ya know, it was a fleeting thought that initially started as a joke and then the thought process took over...

If the threat of background checks for ammo purchases is made good, could an enterprising person create a brick and mortar store that required a membership in order to shop there ala Costco? I made a joke and called it "The Ammunition Club," whereby prospective members applied for a membership with a yearly due. The background check is done only once for membership purposes and kept in a member file; from then on, it wouldn't have to be made again because a person now has membership. Maybe add extra services like free PPT for members or discounts after a certain number of purchases.

Like I said, it's a dumb idea, hilarious actually, but in the current California climate it could be a reality.

Great Idea, except... No provision for such a club in the law.

You misunderstand the whole point of the law, which is to make buying ammo such a PITA that people won't want to do it at all..
      It's not about safety.
      It's not about regulation.

Its all about ****ing with gun owners and nothing more.

Just buy in bulk when you go out of state. That's what all the cool kids will do.

Squatramento will shut you down before you get off the ground, or regulate you so badly your customers will save nothing from this service.

Nice idea though but this is still Crappyfornia USA

Since there is no law, there is no prohibition from it either.

It would depend on how such a law is written and weather the background check needs to be conducted each time a purchase is made, or within a specific time period (day, week, month etc....)

Same reason why there's no DROS Club. Hypothetically can have a clean background check in January, but then commit a felony in March.

I totally understand the point of the law; I was just thinking of an idea that might make life easier for us while still staying within the proposed law.

Unconstitutional laws aren't legally binding either.

Unfortunately, they're enforceable until a court says otherwise.

Half the people will ignore it anyway. It will only drive ammo sales underground. Like law enforcement needs another headache.
