Thanks to SB 707, I know keep (kept) a lockable gun case in the truck. This time yesterday, I notice a shattered window on the passenger glass. They broke in and only took the empty case. Don't know how they knew.

The did not enter the truck, it was still locked up tight.

Big mess, and a couple hundred bucks later, all is well. Lesson learned. Keep NO valuables in the car overnight. This crime occurred in one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the city. They are out there. They want your stuff.

Or park in your garage if you have one (I understand you may not have one).

Too many people fill their garage with junk and can't park their cars in them. Then they wonder why they get vandalized or robbed. Not like your garage can't be broken into but it's a much less tempting and harder target than a car on the street or in a driveway.

Glad to hear nothing of value was taken and that is was just an empty case idntwn2.

My buddy leaves his soft top jeep wrangler unlocked at night in his driveway in a pretty nice expensive neighborhood in Sactown, so the criminals can go thru his car without breaking a lock or smashing window since they have done it before, might as well acknowledge they will try and steal stuff rather than pay for broken parts on your vehicle, I understand his logic, but overall that says we are accepting criminal behavior and it is inevitable. Oh well???? Very Frustrating.....However angry you get about hearing stuff like this Refuse to be a Victim!!!!

As soon as they are released from jail, almost all tweakers immediately use again and without cash they need goods to sell or trade for their next hit of Meth. Around here SUV owners have their removable rear seats stolen and any cars riding high enough for crawling underneath are vulnerable to catalytic converters being removed at zero-dark-thirty. And people still leave their laptops, purses, and other nice to have items sitting on their passenger seats in security patrolled parking lots where smash and grab thefts take about fifteen seconds. Echo the above posts about not keeping valuables in vehicles.

I have two cars and two Motorcycles in the garage. My DD Pickup is to large to fit, so it remains outdoors in the driveway, next to the wife's Burb.
