I remember that when all of these things were happening, gun owners in California weren't afraid to let friends, neighbors, and co-workers know that they owned guns. Guns were "normal" back then, because we all acted like they were. Ah, the good ol' days . . .Anchors Aweigh

I enjoy reminiscing about how things used to be. In elementary school, upon returning from Christmas break, all the boys would get together to discuss who got a rifle or shotgun for Christmas and the make and model.
In high school we used to go dove or quail hunting before and after school, and our shotguns were in our vehicles that were parked in the school parking lot. When birds were not in season, we had .22s in our vehicles so we could go shooting after school.sigpicComment

Remember when pimps worked on a understanding of respect for "The Game." Nobody tried to peel each others Freaks and the track was loaded with flyskimmers eager to ply their trade, Ahhhhhhhh yeah!!!sigpic

When pimping begins, friendship ends.

Remember when.......
A .38 Special was considered the best home protection round money could buy!
A black gun was the color of the gun!
You could legally bring firearms to school so you could go hunting right after school let out!
A CA hunting license and deer tag cost less than $20!
Private pheasant clubs did not exist!
Wild pheasant populations were strong!
No one used non-lead anything!
Mountain lions were legal to hunt!
You could legally hunt bear with hounds!
The phrase "anti hunter" was not part of our vocabulary!
Gavin Newsom was a pimple on his mommies ***!
It's still like that here!
I pay $124 for a Sportsman Package, includes the following,
Hunting License
Fishing License
Deer tag
Elk tag
Bear tag
Mountain Lion tag
Gray Wolf tag
Salmon tag
Steelhead Tag***Honesty is the Foundation of One's Character***
*** In comparing the virtues of various calibers, using hollow point ammo: it is absolutely undeniable that, while a 9 mm or .40 S&W may or may not expand, a .45 will never shrink. ***

Yes it is. Used to buy that package but never put it to use. Hopefully will buy it again soon with the opportunity to use more of the tags.
Still works that way in much of the country.
Still is in some states.
Absolutely. The campaign to make firearms a dirty secret has worked.
Walmart still does. And in some places they even carry handguns.
Remember when people took action instead of just talking about it on the Internet. .....
