    Remember when..............

    Remember when.......

A .38 Special was considered the best home protection round money could buy!

A black gun was the color of the gun!

You could legally bring firearms to school so you could go hunting right after school let out!

A CA hunting license and deer tag cost less than $20!

Private pheasant clubs did not exist!

    Wild pheasant populations were strong!

    No one used non-lead anything!

Mountain lions were legal to hunt!

You could legally hunt bear with hounds!

The phrase "anti hunter" was not part of our vocabulary!

Gavin Newsom was a pimple on his mommies ***!

I remember when I didn't have to hunt for ammunition.

I remember when I could buy a pistol at the hardware store.

I remember when you could go into a hardware store, buy a gun and some ammo, and be plinking 15 minutes later within the city limits!

I remember virtually every truck having a gun rack with a rifle and shotgun in the rear window - and NEVER having to lock the truck!

I remember every house having a gun cabinet prominently displayed in the living areas. The gun cabinet had no lock and the front door was NEVER locked - even if you were on vacation for a month!

I remember playing cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians in the neighborhood or parks, brandishing our cap guns without a second look from anyone including the cops!

I remember riding our bikes with our .22's across the handlebars through the neighborhoods to get to shooting spots!

Old people always complain that things are getting worse - because they are!!!

I remember walking through my suburban neighborhood to the woods with my .22 to shoot pine cones and having a local cop wave to me as he went by.

I remember my high school rifle team competing against other schools on their basement shooting ranges right in the school!

I remember my dad taking me to the local hardware store on my 16th birthday and walking out with a Marlin Glenfield model 25 .22 bolt action rifle and a brick of .22s.

Add to the above I remember buying a rifle/shotgun or PISTOL from someone and not needing to go to the FFL
                  I remember: 22RFHP=$.67/100, Powder for $3.95/lb and 30-06/7mag/30-30 Rem/Win ammo $5.99/box of 20.
I remember when if you wanted Nosler(or other better) bullets in your ammo you had to reload. They were not in any factory ammo. Also Federal was the 1st to load those types of bullets into factory ammo.
Remember(and purchased) when Wards and Sears and other hardware type stores sold firearms.
I remember fewer hunters and more game in the fields/forest.
Remember original 30-40Krags, 1903,1903As etc for $45 and no waiting period or fees

I remember when I used to live in a communist sh1thole country where the government didn't trust citizens to own firearms.
I remember when I went to CA gun shows and 33-round Glock mags we're stacked 2 meters high and no one wanted them.
Seems like I'm coming full circle now.

I'm in my mid 20s so no I don't remember any of that. Sounds nice though

Fishing license was less than $20 and military surplus rifles were just that. Old surplus nobody thought about.

I remember California gun shops full of Uzis, HK 91, HK 94 and Spas 12 rifles and shotguns. Long guns went home that day with you. No wait period.
