    What was your first gun

I know this will be hard for some of you old guys but, what was your first gun? And do you still have it? Also do you remember when you got it and how old you were?
I know that some of you will not be able to hold back and want to list all three, handgun, rifle and shot gun.
Any good stories will be good too.

Handgun: Ruger Single Six Convertable, blued. Still have it. Got it in 1983, I was 19.

Rifle: Winchester 94/22 XTR. Still have it. Dad gave it to me in 1976, I was 12.

Shotgun: Mosberg 410 pump. It's been gone for years. I got it back in the late 70s and have no clue what happen to it when I went into the Marine Corps in 82.
Do not relish to feel what the men that used these weapons felt when they saw the elephant. For the elephant has tusk and to see him is to have his tusk dig deep into your soul. You will always have a part of you that will be cold and empty.

Marlin 99 semiauto 22LR bought it at White Front when I turned 18 - 1968. Later in 1968 got my first handgun 4" Colt 357 mag Trooper from a cop who was upgrading to a Python. Still have both of them. My first shotgun was a $29.99 POS break open 12ga - sold that one to a friend who cut the bbl to 18" and 26" overall and kept it by his bed. Second shotgun was a Remington 870 12ga. Bought that one new from Montgomery Wards when our daughter was born in 1972 - still have it too. Our daughters first gun was a Charter Arms AR7 - she's still got it. Our Grandsons first guns are a Norinco knock-off of the Browning 22 auto and an old model Ruger Bearcat. He doesn't have them yet but will as soon as mama says I can give them to him.

Ithaca Featherweight 20ga, $70 from my great grand dad when I was 12. Yes I still have it and use it. It is a dove killing machine. Colt Combat Commander 9mm when I was 18 and yes have it too. I don't sell I collect. It's a sickness

I shot on and off as a kid. Still remember the first bird I shot with a bb gun, the jackrabbit .22 hip shot on the fly with my uncle.

Didn't get into guns until I was a young adult. Got a Remington 870 because "a man with a shotgun never starves", cut my teeth shooting trap with the old timers, collected deer with slugs on the island. Got a Marlin Glenfield model 25 bolt .22 about a year later. So poor in those days, first proper deer rifle I bought was a Mosin 91/30. Finally a Springfield 1911. The rest is history.

Ruger 10/22 in 1971, for my birthday as a young un. Still have it, it's been through some changes, still using the receiver and the bolt.

Dan Wesson 357 with the multiple barrels, then sold it to my brother and bought my '61 Python for $250.
