    Visiting Houston

    Hey everyone,

I'm going to Houston for a relative's graduation. Before the rest of the family gets there and it gets hectic for me, I'll have a day to myself. Can anyone recommend some good spots for BBQ and some good LGS's to visit for that day? I know I can use yelp, but I still prefer recommendations from places like these boards. I feel they're more reliable. Cheers.

OH man BBQ and gun stores every where. Can't think of anything one place better than the other. Visit all you can and you'll be pissed because you can't buy any thing good to bring home.

Houston is a pretty big city with lots of suburban areas extending out to 30 or 40 miles from the city itself. An idea of where you will be (N, S, E, W or more) will help narrow it down.

Carter's Country. They have multiple stores all around Houston, look it up.
While not a BBQ place http://pappadeaux.com/menu/ is a place to go.

Don't tell the gun stores that you're from California.... They will make fun of you!
