    Regrets....

Yes, life is too short to hold them, but everyone has them. Keeping to the topic of gun discussions, what's your sale or trade regret? You might be like me and regret a pistol that got away, or someone else I know who regrets having bought a magazine operated shotgun.

My gun regret is trading a Springfield P9 that was my first purchased gun back in the day for a Glock 22. Back then, the Glock was pretty new to the scene. Seemed like a good trade. Today, I sure would like that P9 back with the grandfathered high cap mags. The Glock is long since traded. No regret on that one.

Only one I can think of is when my partner asked me to give her son a (semi-auto) rifle, all I could think of was my very nice stainless Mini-30 with Hogue overmolded stock, so I gave him that.

Later I realized I had an old Kel-Tec SU-16 in the back of the safe I could have given him, and with which he would have been just as happy.

But generally I don't get rid of guns if I'm going to regret it later. They don't take up that much space. Now about the cars I regret selling . . .

Not buying a consignment P32 recently. Selling one of my AR15s before even shooting it. Not buying a revolver sooner.

Less than gun related: not buying $5k of silver when it was $12 an ounce about 5 years ago.

How does one become emotional over a firearm especially one that has O family history. Do you also get this way when you lose a tool or a favorite coffee cup?

Sure, if you've got a tool that works really well, it was a good price, and it's saved you in a pinch, it does form its own emotion; it makes you feel good you had it and regret its absence.

Not registering my HK94 as a RAW when I could. Then having to sell it out of state. Before I really knew about the law.

Not finding/knowing what happened to my dad's Navy issued WW2 Colt 1911 pistol. I'm still looking for it.

Yes. It is common with people who have souls.

I regret not securing my Benelli O/U before checking out at the motel. It got lifted by the cleaning crew and they lied about it.

That's why I never sell guns I buy. Guns are for collecting, not trading.

Unless you're in the gun business that is.

Sure. If said coffee cup was no longer legal to purchase 3 years later or that tool you didn't pick up quadrupled in price by the time you had enough reflection to regret not buying it.
                          It's a Gun Thing, you wouldn't understand.

I've been in the game since '98 or so. Wish I had bought more things but I have few regrets.

Probably should have bought some H&K P7's off of gunbroker when they were on the roster.
