    Custom Made Spring

OK Gang - I need a custom made hammer spring made with more power than the one I have for the rifle. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Are they out of business? Didn't they just come out with a Yugo M53?

Wiselite was sold to another company that wants NOTHING to do with the DP28

No - because the receiver is very shallow, they use a VERY unique (and finicky) hammer set up.

Actually, it COULD be in this case. New spring must be exact same length, diameter AND must be about 25% stronger than the existing spring so.... best done by someone who knows their metallurgy and can measure the spring power etc.

OK well spring steel is spring steel, generally. You need wire with a 25% greater cross section. Wound and cut to length, then heat treated. might want to find somebody who can wind one on a lathe, may have to HT yourself. Red hot, quench. Then temper. Gunsmiths used to burn the quenched spring in oil, that would temper the spring. Good luck, and nice gun.

EXACTLY. This is why I need a real pro. The spring can't get any larger as it goes through a tunnel in the fire control group. It can get SLIGHTLY tighter wound, but not much as there is a mandrel it goes over. Temper too much too brittle. Too little, and it will be too soft.

Can the m1 carbine recoil spring or M1A/M14 recoil spring work. Thier long but I'm not sure if it the same size but what about the 47/74? Just a thought

Look for a similar one in Industrial Suppliers. Gun springs are nothing special.

If you have ever visited Westech at the Convention Center, you would have seen a few Major vendors whose main business is making Springs. I remember one of them had a catalog the size of a phone book and they made anything and everything from the size of a Glock trigger safety spring to 18 wheeler's coil springs, and all in between. Such suppliers will certainly have something that fits the bill for you. I wished I could remember the vendor to post for you. Just use your google-fu and you will find them.
                          Good luck.
