Indoor range rant

So tried to go to my local range yesterday cause I had a couple hours between work and get there and it's fully packed with an hour wait. Bummed but no worries that's how it goes sometimes.

Went back today and it's about 1/2 capacity so I get a lane and go to set up and the whole table is full. People had their targets all over the place so I nudged one over to make some tiny space. Unpack and setup and I start getting brass from the guy to the left of me. Guy is shooting fast too so casing goes by my face, hits my shoulder then hits my gun. I'm just like are you even serious right now lol... a few more fly into my stall and I just wait a bit then start firing .

After everyone cleared out on my row it was peaceful and sure enough I had to go cause I was pressed for time myself...

Anyone else wish they had a private range or lived somewhere in a free state when you can walk out in your backyard and shoot in peace? Haha

Every day - both the range/ability to shoot on my own property, AND that I was living outside of Kali.

You should try Angeles pistol range when its full. There is no divider. Brass going everywhere. I wonder if they would let me shoot with a helmet.

Your experience was mild. Wait until you get lead ricochet from the hanger and bounce on your head.

I can shoot in my backyard legally. In California.

Thankfully, I live in #2 on the "10 worst small towns in California where you wouldn't want to live."

I live in cali and yes i can strap an ak to my back and take a 12 sec ride to my private range but I spend more time pickin up my casings LoL

Feel your pain. if I'm not in the stall/lane then I usually get tagged. I miss the days of living in Kernville and walking ten minutes to shoot outdoors with no one around.

I'm not sure I would shoot in my yard. It's like littering your yard with lead fragments. How am I going to find them and dispose of it properly. I don't want garbage in my yard

Five other groups of neighbors along our mile long private road and they all occasionally target shoot on their property.
I've never been inside an indoor range and have no future plans to do so.

That's all part of shooting indoors, why I do it very rarely any more and why I joined Sac Valley and Lincoln Gun clubs.

Ha...shoot a Gen4 Glock 19 and you get hit in the face all the time with your 'own' brass!

I hate going to an indoor range when they are slow. It gets kind of boring just shooting without incoming brass from the guy on the left.
