I know I am (kind of...) preaching to the choir here but this is getting ridiculous. Pristine wilderness, littered with shot up trash by ignorant, lazy, gun owners reflects poorly on all of us. This was taken yesterday at one of my favorite shooting areas, theres just no excuse to drag appliances out in the woods, shoot them up and just leave them. I cleaned it up, but not before I'm sure some anti's saw it, photographed it and sent it to the clipped hair, mean face, comforttable shoe wearing operatives in the Stanislaus national forest office...

Yeah, I don't get why people are so obsessed with dragging this kind of stuff out to places like this and shooting it. I can't say I haven't shot up an old refrigerator or TV in my day, but it was always on private land and we still cleaned it up.

Toting it into the wilderness and then just leaving it there is stupid.

That's sad. Cleaning up after yourself should be common sense, sadly not everyone is lucky enough to have common sense

Probably some younger guys that were never taught to respect as kids. Reminds me of the other day at Target where I saw some kids running around throwing stuff on the ground and at others and the parents just ignored it. I have a one year old and I'll be sure to teach him dicipline and respect, not just for himself but for others and their property.

I regularly bring out charged fire extinguishers to shoot at. I also take the carcass back with me leaving the powder behind. The powder is also a fertilizer, so I'm not harming anything. And always take out more than I bring in. It's usually the first thing we do when we arrive at a location to shoot.

sad the area i shoot at will be shut down in X number of years cause of fools doing this.
glass is the worst. sure it will erode away but not for decades. maybe generations.

but all the plastc trash will never go away.
broken shot-up, burned out cars and trucks, just fuel up the proff the antis need to shut it down.
but how to teach people to clean up?
how many are there to just trash the place in the name of anti gun?

Out here in VA, I joined a hunt club for 1) hunting (obviously) and 2) access to a 600 yard range. No public land out here to go shoot at, let alone a 600 yard range. There's an outfit that has a 300 yard range, but they want half of what the club does in fees, and you can't go hunting.

Anywho, back to the point:

Other club members do the same damn thing at the club range, even though it's their club and it's not exactly cheap to be a member. I really don't understand it.

I think in most cases the trash dumper and the shooter are different people. People too cheap to dispose of their trash properly will dump it anywhere they can unload without being noticed.

Shooting locations often fit that bill.


Then a shooter comes along and says "Cool I'll shoot that"

I don't go to public land shooting areas anymore. I cannot stand people leaving trash behind them.
