Buying ammo online?

I received an email from SGammo in Stilllwater, OK and they are telling their customers that California has made online ammo sales illegal after 1/1/17. Anyone know if this is true? All I can find is online ammo sales must now be done through an FFL.

Lgs is way too expensive. I always order online, get free shipping, never a problem

Not always, for some reason my LGS most times has great prices on 22LR.
