I freakin' hate cleaning my guns. A couple of years ago my FFL buddy sold me on the Frog Lube and I have never had an issue because of it. I used to get a headache using Hoppe's but now I don't. I'll use up what I've got until I run out then I'll probably switch to something else because I do worry about what I've read in this thread.

Cleaning...(Froglube)

My father used to clean his guns at the kitchen table and so I grew up with the divine smell of Hoppes. Ambrosia. Always loved the smell of Hoppes and now for me it's not only a lovely fragrance in its own right, but invariably a nostalgic one, reminding me of my late father.
People tell me FrogLube smells like mint or something. That just ain't right.
I don't mind cleaning a gun, or even two. Actually sort of enjoy it. What I hate is cleaning ten of them, and since I typically take a lot of guns out on a shoot, they don't get cleaned properly anymore.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment

I've used froglube for years without any gumming or malfunctions but I recently switched to mpro 7. The reason was the price...they sure are proud of that stuff recently! With a supply demand economy it would lead me to believe they are selling ALOT of product.
Every cleaner I have tried seems to work at varying levels and every oil/grease lubricates...so choose what you like.Comment
