Lytle creek bad experience

What now??? Umm.. how about you man up and deal with it? I go to Lytle a lot and 99% of the time, I have a great time. There's always going to be that one A-HOLE at the range, no matter where you go. I was at Lytle Creek once and a guy there complained loudly that he kept getting hit by brass (not mine, the guy next to me). After I had enough of his whining I told him "WOW stop the press, you mean to tell me you're getting hit by brass at a GUN range?!" He made a few remarks and left the range shortly after. Sheit happens. Deal with it.over all my buddies had a wonderful time and I think I convinced them invest in a firearm. But WTF honestly I made the hour drive to shoot my ammo at a safe location with other friendly people. I invested some ammo and my guns to allow my self and my buddies to shoot a 22., 12Ga, 55.6 and a mosin it was worth the experience for a variety of firearms I didn't own. the lady in the counter was nice and the range officer who bailed me out after he noticed the rude remark was cool to. Like I said my first time was amazing at lytle creek second time was a bit BS now I have mixed results what now?Living in the free State of NevadaComment

Never used the public ranges at Burro but we have rented a private range many, many times. It's a great way to go. In fact, we are completely spoiled now, and have no desire to use a public range at all, at least on a weekend.
Advice: get out your calendar and reserve private ranges at Burro. You need to reserve them two or three months in advance, but with a little planning it's no big deal. My company had a set-up where we rented a private range the first Saturday of every month for a couple years.

As for public ranges, I always liked Angeles Ranges, but it is so insanely crowded on weekends now, I won't go any longer. Used to be awesome ten years ago.
I last visited Lytle Creek to qualify for my CMP rifles maybe 15 years go, before the road was paved. I have read so much crap about that place here on Calguns I have no desire to make the drive and try it out again.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment

As another member said. Try out WEGC. That range is excellent and in the area of Lytle Creek.Visit www.npfreedom.com for discounted firearm parts and accessoriesComment

Went there once, they sold me a paper target mounted on a flimsy stick that immediately broke when I tried to pound it in the hard ground.. Ended up with a paper target propped up by broken wood & rocks.. After about 1/2 hr decided I had to pee, the outhouse bathrooms were so Nasty & Smelly you could smell them from about 10 yards away.. Ever try to pee while holding your nose with one hand? Never Again..Comment

It is unfortunate that people mix up Lytle Creek with WEGC.

There used to be a semi auto MG shoot. But the powers to be shut it down after two or three years. Guess they didn't like the belt fed crowd. Talking about Lytle Creek.

Went to Lytle once with a small group of buddies, we took up 4 or 5 spots. The RO on site that day wanted to talk so much about our gear and shooting the S*&*^ between that and the cease fire every 12 mins we laid out maybe 5 mags in an hour. Pounding brittle stakes in the ground with a rock and no steel on site for the most part... well the last time I went, I stopped into the small office to grab some paper targets and cardboard and jumped right back on the road North to Barstow. lolComment

I wont bother because i have a raw and only mags i have are 10 plus rounds.I dont need anyone thats non LEO asking for papers on my rifle even though they are with it.
I rather dive an extra hour on the fwy and use the money saved for fuel.Comment

Keep in mind the range is a Forest Service lease so the operators run what seems to be a tight ship. I haven't been there in a while but the last time was not a big deal with anything I had with me. 2 AR's, no bullet button or mag check. 91 Mosin, no ammo check. There is an old guy that like to ooh and ah over the Garands, I let him do a Garand push up with my rifle. No big deal, I'm not wound up as tight as some people are though.Comment

I have been going to Lyttle creek for many years and prior to privatizing. I don't care much for the range masters but you have to understand lots of weirdos and Rambos show up and it's go to know that the RM are keeping things in check.sigpicComment
