Need scope recommendation for 308 AR 10

So I got a really good deal on an AR 10 ($750 for everything) and I need a scope for it. My budget is about $300 I was looking at the vortex strike eagle or the primary arms prism scope. I prefer the primary arms reticle but I'm guessing vortex is better quality?

    What do you guys suggest?

I'm open to most brands so this isn't just between the two.

I also prefer 1-6 magnification like the vortex has

This AR 10 is going to be low recoil (adjustable gas block and no buffer weights)

    $300 budget +or- 50$
I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.

I put a vortex 4x12 on mine, was $150 on sale and works great. I'm a vortex fan, clear glass and durable, awesome warranty (haven't had to use it though).
Gun control is a 1" group at 500 yds!

Wait, 4x Mag and 12mm objective? That seems a bit too small did you mean 22?

Variable magnification, 4x to 12x, possibly this one: http://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-.../dp/B001EC7KMY

Ah okay, thanks for the clarification. I'll absolutely consider that.

I guess I forgot to mention that I was looking for maybe a compact scope. Or would this be better? I'm only going to 600 yards Max with this so it's not like I'll NEED any magnification higher than 4 but it doesn't necessarily hurt either.

I put this vortex on mine:

Got it on sale in the deals forum here got 300 shipped. Unless you're in a big hurry I'd say cruise the web and find something good on sale. Have cash in reserves and strike while the iron is hot.

PA ACSS is good. Slapped one on my LR308 and its really nice. Gets me out to 600m with no adjustments because of the reticles. However, the downside to that is it gets boring fast.

I had their 308 HUD and the glass quality was terrible. I REALLY like their acss 1-6x 300blk scope though.

I know you said your budget was 300ish but I still gotta throw this out there. My shooting buddy put the Nikon M-308 with the BDC reticle on his Lr-308. After shooting his I'm saving my pennies and going for that model. I have an SWfA 10x42 right now I got used from another calgunner and it's pretty darn nice too but I really want the Nikon so I'm saving now.

Can't go wrong with Nikon. And from what I've seen they can be had for $430 all day long. I'll definitely consider that scope, thanks for the idea

Do they have a 308 version? It seems a bit too pricey for me right now
