95% of the time if the ad starts with "Off Roster" you know it's going to be some crazy price. But the other 5% they are just telling you it can't be shipped anywhere in the state to an ffl.

The first rule to getting a good deal here, is to know what you are looking at when you see it
      ^This right here.

Don't know if OP is shilling or trolling, but I'll play. I just did a search in the marketplace for G27 also. Gen 3 on there includes bunch of extra mags and ammo, which in the end, would be a better bargain than buying from a store. Gen 4 is always high because it's off roster.

        What am I missing.
The market place is the market place . . the seller can ask what they want. Some buyers shop for the good deals, some don't bother.

        Not much else to it.

I think if we really want to be an open forum of thought and discussion, we will accept that certain prices of (insert Glock model here) can and do hurt a person's feelings. I would like to be the first to offer any emotional support that the offended might require. I only charge a small fee (depending on the distance I have to travel and length of time required to make you emotionally whole again). PM for details, but please include the offending post in your message.

I've seen people sell used guns at new prices. If I'm gonna pay those prices, I'm buying new, not used.

Some sellers think the next buyer should cover the cost of original DROS, the original tax, pay for the "200 rounds" the seller already shot through the gun, the gas the seller used driving to the range every time they fired the gun, reimburse them for the time they spent cleaning the gun, and then add on another $50 just for fun.

Always check gun genie before buying anything in the marketplace.

Don't get discouraged -- there are still some good deals to be had in the market place. Just be vigilant, and caveat emptor.

Best description I have seen in a long time.

Gun Genie and Grab A Gun are great places to check prices for new stuff before buying a used one. People are better off buying a new gun unless if absolutely desperate or the price is so good that you can not let it go.

Because no matter what your price is someone will offer 50% of what you asked. You could list a wilson combat 1911 for $750 and someone would offer $500 and want you to drive 200miles for the ppt.
So you list high and hope someone offers what you actually want to sell it at.

The ad that have me is used gen3 glocks for $500 + $35 ppt fees.
New gen3 is $499.00 +tax ($40). So I will be saving $30. Yeah I'll go to rifle gear and pick up a new one that is unmolested and pay $30 more. And even though g19 and g26 are selling like hot cakes, rifle gear get them every few days. Just sign up for notifications.

At one point the gun for sale was worth $XXX.XX to them to purchase it, because unless they were coerced under gun point to purchase it, that's what they were willing to spend on it.

And as some above mentioned not only was it worth $XXX.XX to purchase it was also worth $XXX.xx additionally in terms of DROS/tax fees to purchase as well. Otherwise they wouldn't have purchased it.

Those who don't understand supply and demand, leave their firearms on FS at the price they felt it was worth when they purchased it. And then are dismayed at why no one feels it is worth the same $$$ to them as it was to the seller.

Those who understand demand, will lower their price accordingly. Those who don't understand demand either will find a buyer who doesn't research his purchases well, or will just hold onto their overpriced firearm forever.

It's much worse for off roster guns....seems they want a $500 premium

I remember seeing colt gold cups for 1800
