It does, but since this guy lost a leg and apparently not his junk... not eligible.

I suspect you are correct. But if he is going to sue, he better hop to it.

I think explosives are like fire, it is hard to be educated about it and if you don't spend the time to get educated you don't really have a true appreciation of what you are dealing with until you are burned.

Except the equivalent of being burned when it comes to explosives is suddenly missing body parts.

I'm only surprised we don't hear about accidents like these more often.

Because most people are smart enough to know from watching movies? You really don't see that many people getting burned in movies.
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

Remember, if it comes prepackaged in a container labeling it as a shot indicator, it is not a high explosive.
I'm sure emphasizing the above will make the guy now missing a leg feel a lot better.

What you are saying may be academically true; but EVERYONE had best TREAT it as an explosive, regardless. Please - so the stuff doesn't get banned. it's a lot of fun when used safely.

Otherwise, fools and their legs are soon parted.

A 2 year old learns not to touch a hot stove-burner in one of three ways:

              1) A very adamant Mom is severely threatening, and mandates "you had best better not touch that damned burner - or I'll kill you". Ok Mom.

              2) Sees someone else touch the burner - his stupid 3 year old brother who did not listen to Mom - and learns not to touch the stove after seeing the results.

              3) Mom's not around - touches it, gets burned - "won't do that again". Mom lets the child live anyway, satisfied that the lesson was learned.

And yet, as a grown man, he will still do something as stupid as hold a Roman Candle in his hand, or put an M-80 on the top of his head, or stuff Tannerite into a lawn-mower and stand 43 yards away - while setting it off.

YouTube is the new "America's Funniest Home Videos" without the studio regulators to deny staged-stupidity.

Being pre-internet, the program received so many submissions of dangerous, ridiculous, staged scenarios that even when they resulted in injury, idiots would still submit them just to get on the show and make some cash. Most people have no idea how many thousands of such videos were submitted as they were reviewed and rejected due to such reasons. And it was always easy to spot the fakes. But in some cases, authorities had to be called because situations of child endangerment or illegal activity were caught on film - on purpose.

That is now YouTube, with every Darwin Disciple attempting to one-up someone else, yet there is little to no limitations as to the lengths people will go to put themselves in danger - hence, this moron. Seems to get even more ridiculous when chumps start playing with firearms and explosives as if they were toys or a video game recreation because that is the view of firearms or explosive on which they grew up.

It can be fun, of course, when done safely. But there is a very good reason why there are certified/licensed pyro/explosive experts and stuntman hired by the film industry to pull off the stuff you see in films without injury. So to recreate that, the same sort of standards must be met, but so few people at least look into what that may be.

43 FEET - if this guy had just followed the damned directions from Tannerite, he would have walked away from the fun with a good laugh, rather than being carried away.

The worst thing I see about all of this - his stupidity and that video will now be evidence number 1 to pursue complete bans on Tannerite, no different than how such stupidity is used as purpose to ban firearms.

His leg gone today - our freedoms gone tomorrow.

Not to imply it's your mindset, but this last sentence captures the mentality that starts people down the prohibitionist road. Thanks to the Internet, we don't really need to use our imagination anymore to determine the scope of this kind of problem.

And to the last couple posters, it was 43 ft... Not even yards.

I have shot Tannerite three times, it is extremely fun to detonate. The only thing I have blown up was some Pumpkins. You have to be a special level of stupid to put Tannerite into something metal and then not even go to a safe distance. Play stupid games...
