The only people that died that day were the felons. Laws were quickly passed that then criminalized millions of law abiding Californians. 2 felons commit a crime, then millions of law abiding citizens are criminalized, how in the fffk is that common sense.

Additionally, even though CO just passed mag laws, those laws would have done nothing to stop the Columbine Massacre because those bastards also used 10 rnd mags. Not to mention the worst school massacre in US history was committed in 1927 in Bath, MI, when the school treasurer planted two bombs underneath the township schoolhouse. Then we have Rwanda where 800,000 people were macheted to death. Mindset is everything, the inanimate object is irrelevant. People who blame inanimate objects are by default incapable of having a rational argument.

Yes, I'm all out of fffks to give at this point, too.
Colorado Sheriffs do not enforce the mag laws, at all. You can right now today walk into LIBERTY ARMS in Fort Collins and buy as many fully assembled Pmags as you want, and they keep standard capacity mags for pretty much every common rifle and handgun in stock. last time I was there they were out of 32rnd Uzi mags though... I was sad...

The problem with these sorts of laws are they are punitive to an entire CLASS of people, who have done NOTHING WRONG, and they will largely be ignored. What Anti-s do not get is if they keep pushing at some point the majority in this country is going to push back. The Revolutionary war was fought over gun control and illegal search and seizure, and the next one will likely be as well.

The freind described by the OP is fine with going shooting but wants more gun laws? Sounds like a typical liberal, "its fine if _I_ want to do it but not for the unwashed masses..."
Fear is the spare change that will keep you broke

Call him run-like-hell-when-shtf-guy or dial-911-guy but NEVER call an unarmed man "Security".

This is an interesting point. It feels as if some laws are essentially status crimes in their purpose, where being a gun owner is a punishable status.
Blows my mind how these laws aren't being examined under strict scrutiny when they're challenged.

Why would his stand on Gun Control have anything to do with being a friend?

These threads always get me thinking of who we have in our lives. A friend is someone who is there for you when you need them. Has proven themselves trustworthy and honest. Is there when times are good and when times are bad.

My best friend is a staunch Lib voting for Hillary, hates guns and drives a Prius and thinks I'm insane for having more than 3 guns. He's seen my ammo pile and thinks I'm one of "those guys".

I've known him for 20yrs and he was there when I hit rock bottom and was there during the climb out. I would trust him with my life.

As far as most anti 2A types are concerned, simply owning a firearm should be a criminal activity.

These same people don't recognize gun ownership as a right. Just from having read their asinine comments on news sites, they often ask "what militia are you a part of" when trying to argue their point. These are the same people that would gladly sign a petition to repeal the second ammendment and would be completely oblivious to the fact that other rights would be taken right after.

And once you prove their "logic" to illogical, they resort to raised voices and name calling.

Last week I trolled this lefty sitting next to me at a local (to my studio) watering hole. Once I disproved her stats, and other arguments as farts in the wind, her voice got louder, twice she insinuated I was sexist, and once she insinuated I was racist. I kept trolling, and I know her blood pressure was sky high.

Even my friends working the bar were amused...and a little concerned she might freak out.

I went back yesterday and they all wanted to know who the bats**t crazy lady was. "Just some psycho that sat next to me at the bar."

Hand them an unported .338 Lapua bolt-action with no buttpad. Tell them they need to get reeeeaaaal close to the scope to sight it.

So when a drunk driving incident gets reported in the news, do all the liberal politicians call for an automobile ban? How about limiting the capacity of gas tanks? Or maybe creating a list of approved cars which can only be purchased if they are equipped with a with a breathalyzer and nerf bumpers?

Thank god we live in America where people can have and voice their opinions about things - no matter how misguided they may be. Let's hope that nothing happens to infringe on that right. At the same time, those who are exercising their 1A rights should be respectful of those exercising their 2A rights.

                          End of discussion.

Of course there's a war on 1A, as 1A & 2A go hand in hand. Feinstein for instance, besides passing anti-2A legislation, she has been hot on the heals to go after bloggers and stating that anyone who posts should have media credentials. The irony, most of the popular media channels today are devoid of facts or legitimate information, sensationalism is what people want, they don't care if it's true or not. Her goal was to go after blogs like TTAG who out people like her and Leland Yee.

^ I have no connection or affiliation with the above site, simply showing what she was doing & saying. I'm not sure if this is a direct quote but "First Amendment is a Special Privilege, Not a Right!" that is her stance at least.

Many cities require permits for rallies, etc... Adam Kokesh, whether people like him or not, proves over & over again what type of controls are in place to circumvent free speech. He even had an undercover clearly place drugs in his pocket at a rally so they could arrest him and shut him down.
