Anyone know what happend tonight at Target Masters?

Stopped by there around 8:45pm and there was 5 police cars, fire truck and a ambulance. Also the parking lot was full of cars, with police talking to them outside. I hope this isn't another suicide.

They had a shooting there. Just kidding. Someone showed up with a dark colored rifle. I think it was black and it scared all the customers so they called the police. There was a DOJ employee there and when he saw that black rifle, he fell over and bumped his head and someone had to call an ambulance. I'm just guessing. It was probably another idiot trying to permanatly fix his temporary problems.

i thought they instituted a policy where you couldn't rent a gun unless you brought a friend or your own gun...

The Buddy System was enforced. The lady came in the shop with 2 other people who stayed outside while she was in the bay shooting. The police are investigating the situation.

In all honesty, there isn't much you can do to stop a suicide.

Only friends and family can do that and even then the person has usually made up their mind and they do so after building up the guts to do so.

From what I read its just another range suicide. There are actually people who rent cars and drive them off cliffs to end their lives.

I believe there should be a law that absolves ranges of consequence from suicides and accidental stupidity to themselves. (i.e. shooting a hole in their foot).

That would be like me going into a restraunt ordering the most expensive thing there then suing because i gained weight or going to the restraunt and stabbing myself in the eye with the fork and blaming the restraunt.

You can pass laws all you want and grant absolution for everything, but it won't stop lawsuits from stupid people (or in this case very troubled people) who do stupid things. Even the American Bar Association is afraid of being sued by it's own members - they withdrew their sponsorship of a surfing contest "Lawyers on Longboards" that will be held in Honolulu during thier annual convention - reason: fear of liability lawsuits!

From the Associaated Press: "About 40 lawyers have signed up so far for the National Lawyers on Longboards Surfing Contest scheduled during the Aug. 3-8 American Bar Association annual meeting in Honolulu.

But the ABA has pulled out of sponsoring the surfing competition. The event organizer says the lawyers are afraid of being sued.

"It's really funny - the ABA won't officially sponsor it for liability reasons," said Lea Hong, a Honolulu environmental lawyer and surfer. "

If they are afraid of themselves, the rest of us are really in trouble.
